HTPD 18/12/15

18 December 2015

Dear Parents,

What a fantastic term it’s been! Thank you so much to the children especially for working so hard, for joining in with school life so enthusiastically and for living out our values every day. I do want to pass on my thanks to all of you as well – for making my first term as head such a positive and happy one.

We’ve really enjoyed celebrating Christmas together over this last week; the “carols around the tree” assembly at the infants was delightful,  as well as the chance to share the fun of the panto. At the juniors, the week began with a re-enactment of the Roman census, giving us all a chance to discover more about where each other comes from. On Tuesday, Mary and Joseph visited assembly and then on Wednesday we had a host of angels appear at breaktime, bringing peace and good will to all people! There have been plenty of opportunities to “see heaven in the moment.”

Finally, before we all relax at the end of a busy term, we say goodbye and good luck to Christine as she moves on to a new adventure; I want to thank her publicly for her hard work and commitment to the school over many years. Also, very best wishes to Tom as he starts married life after a Christmas wedding!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday – I’m looking forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus for a second time, this time with my family, now that the school Christmas is over! Have a restful and peaceful Christmas. See you in the New Year! Remember we start back on Wednesday January 6th.

With best wishes

Email address update
One important change to note for next term is that our staff email system is being updated – we are moving over to a new domain making it easier to function as one school. All staff will now share the same address whether they work at the juniors or at the infants (so for example, I will be using the address clareb@htpd.surrey.sch.uk – we’ll publish the new addresses on the website. I’m afraid due to the changeover we won’t be receiving emails until the New Year.

Christmas Play collections
Thank you for your generous donations to Jigsaw Southeast – the combined total over both sites was just over £1000.

Thank you
A very big ‘thank you’ from all the staff for all the lovely cards and presents we have received.  Your kind thoughts are very much appreciated.

Pewley Christmas Play DVD
DVDs came home in book bags yesterday (if you ordered a copy).

Year 2 swimming
Swimming restarts on Wednesday 6 January – the first day back after the Christmas holiday.

Thank you to everyone that supported FOPS and the school this term. The Christmas Fair raised an approximate £2500, which is fantastic.

FOPS wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

Please pay outstanding balances
I’m sorry to have to include this in the pre-Christmas newsletter, but there is a lot of money outstanding on accounts across school, in spite of our earlier billing and reminders. To those who keep their accounts paid up: thank you very much! To those who have more than trivial amounts outstanding, may I ask you please to settle your accounts as a matter of priority - thank you and Happy Christmas! Lesley.

Max Lewis in 3J has mislaid his gym bag.  It has blue/red straps and contained yellow trainers, jogging bottoms and re PE t-shirt.  If you know where these items might be, please let the office know.  Thank you.
